LAW: Demoted and Introductory Tenancies

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of demoted, introductory and starter tenancies. The day includes guidance on good practice; when a tenant can be given an introductory or an assured shorthold as a starter tenancy; how secure and assured tenancies can be demoted and the notices and court procedures required to seek a demotion order or a possession order. At the end of the course you will: Be able to identify the circumstances where a tenancy is probationary (an introductory or starter tenancy) and the practical implications of this for the landlord and the tenant --- Know in what circumstances a secure or assured tenancy may be demoted --- Be able to apply for a demotion order --- Be familiar with the rights and obligations of demoted tenants and the right to buy implications of demotion --- Understand where it may be appropriate to take possession action in respect of a probationary or demoted tenancy, and the good practice implications --- Know how to give notice and take possession proceedings against a demoted, introductory or assured shorthold tenant --- PLEASE CONTACT US FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
